Guys,
As a quick recap, I have PFS symptoms after taking finasteride for a very short time (1 week) followed by Saw Palmetto for 10 days. All started with ED and flu like symptoms. One mistake I did was to take fenugreek which resulted in diarrhea followed by lower back pain. My ED issues have improved over years and so is lower back pain however diarrhea/bloating/digestion is still an issue. Went through a lot of blood tests, saliva test (low cortisol reported in 2016), hair test, high progesterone in blood test reported in past.....

What I’m doing now?

So, here is what I started from yesterday:
- L-Cysteine
-L-Histidine
-L-Glutamine ( if diarrhea comes back)
Too early to say anything however I do feel mental clarity with this combination.

My next step is going to be NaCl,KCL,MgCl protocol followed by RU once I get it. Any comments are welcome.

Welcome aboard... hopefully we'll find something that helps... and others will benefit...

Can you share your brand name, dosages and time of day you're taking your supplements?

Nice news that you notice the mental clarity... at least it's a good reaction...

That looks good, @RebelWithACause is on a similar protocol as you and it doing pretty well.

You could consider adding zinc and/or copper in as well with it. Histidine uses up zinc.

Hi guys,
I’m continuing with doses and have added zinc to my regimen.
Current benefits:
- Mental clarity
- Better erection
- Fewer incidents of lower back pain after erection
-Better digestion so far

However since yesterday, I’m having flu like symptoms and lower energy. This could be an infection.

For last 3 days I have stopped all supplements because of flu. I’m fine now and my plan is to cycle it after sometime.

So far, I have noticed mental clarity and better erection quality which seems persistent (hopefully) as i’m not taking anything right now.

Read the entire hormonal pathway last night and feeling more pumped up on getting it fixed!!

Starting electrolyte protocol in a more defined way:
- MgCl
- Himalayan pink salt(NaCl and other elements)
- Aminos (histidine, cysteine,
glycine,glutamine)
- Folic acid
Not sure of Cu or Zn right now.

Note: I have not added KCL explicitly as my Na <K

I will go Ella/Ru route after this protocol depending on how it goes.

Any thoughts on supplements or my approach?

Continuing with the supplements + made changes to diet - No dairy, steamed veggies, avoid gluten, increased protein (fish etc)
So, where I’m now?
- Digestion improved - No diarrhea so far
- Better erection
- Good focus

Not so good -
- Bloating (facial, stomach)
- Not gaining muscles
- hair greying
- lower back pain

I think downstream 5 beta reductase deficiency is still present which is causing cortisol, progesterone imbalances..(bloating, lower back pain..)

So got my Vitamin D, B12 and liver tests back. Both vit D and B12 are low - even lower than 2015 levels. Not sure why?

It would be interesting to see if those getting recovered by Ella,RU, Zinc finger etc are now seeing improvement in D and B12 levels!!

Last week on Thursday took Tribulus and ashwagandha (once) to help with anxiety during a presentation.

On Friday evening felt lightheadedness which I fixed using electrolytes however started having itching all over my body with very dry skin.

This morning had upset stomach and itching continues ......don’t really know what is causing this. Could it be tribulus? What can I do for itching?

Issues last week went away.

Yesterday, I tried small dose of licorice for the first time. After an hour or so, I started feeling more energy, significant reduction in social anxiety and some sort of positive anxious energy. My skin felt a bit better (less dry but won’t call it pre-fin oily) and more control on thoughts/less brain fog. Also, I felt people were more interested in talking and meeting with me.

@IHateFin I’m planning to add Ella or tribulus starting today. Shall I continue taking licorice daily or have once a week similar to your approach?

i would recommend taking licorice no more than twice every 5 days. so either take it one day and wait 5 days to take again or take it two days in a row and wait 5 days to take again. less is more, my man. when i take licorice i usually take 1/8th tsp once on maybe a conservative day or 1/4 to 3/8tsp twice so one when i wake up and once around lunch. i finally retain water again haha

when i mega dose trib i too get an odd light headedness which i found to actually be estrogen increasing which is a good thing. its identicle to when i takle copper or when i take microdose ru all of which increase estrogen. i even took small amounts of estrogen cream and had the same lightheadedness, but i snapped after as usually into a better mood and to my surprise harder muscles and increased appetite.

Update:
My experience in 5 days after Licorice has been good overall.

What went well?
- Lower social anxiety
- Better mood
- Improved focus
- Face looks less bloated

What was not so good?
- Lower back pain started 2 days after licorice

One thing I have not done last time was adding anti progesterone, so today added tribulus as well when I took Licorice again this morning. Might take Ella as I guess lower back pain is due to high progesterone..

Any suggestions are welcome.

So after taking tribulus, I was pain free for around 10 hours but later in the evening it came back. Looks like 10 hrs is the time trib is in system fighting progesterone. I will take Ella as a better alternative to reset system unless anyone thinks otherwise.

Just came back from vacation (too much sun)!!

I’m still continuing with Licorice though getting diminishing returns (energy, confidence) since coming back from vacation (may be i’m Tired)

Also, got RU today as well and so have both RU and Ella now. I will give RU a try first in microdoses rather than Ella.

Forgot to mention..have swollen lymph node below chin since this morning. Shall I wait for it to subside on its own or are there any supplements/minerals that can help?

Looks like some pretty good progress so far with just the licorice!

Now that you have both Ella and ru you can see which helps you more and stick to that one.
