So, as a relatively long-term dipper who dipped snus, as well as American tobacco since I was around 16, I am curious as to the true effects nicotine/tobacco have on the body. Honestly, it's a habit that I enjoy and do not really want to quit.

That being said, a simple Google search and propaganda pops up on the screen like nobody's business. That all being said, how bad is using tobacco actually? I've heard and looked at articles that it shrinks your junk, contributes to ED, death, etc.....

So smart people of Hack Stasis, what is your opinion? @Helen @Boris @Anyonewhowantstocontribute

I feel better after quitting. I smoked for 10 years nearly a pack a day until December 2018. Obviously cigarettes are loaded with toxic heavy metals and also constrict blood flow. I think everyone here trying to get healthy should totally avoid tobacco.

Yeah that’s sort of how I felt too. I definitely cut down my usage frequency during PFS but have ramped it back up since crossing that threshold. Hell, it honestly seems to help with my PTSD related anxiety.

Cope is great. I’ve gotten back up to daily again now. For what it’s worth I’ve noticed no ill effects.

All of my friends who are smokers (non-PFS) have boner issues on occasion. I did too when smoking a lot before PFS. Go figure.

That’s sort of my experience with my friends that smoke as well. They’re normally the kind popping a viagra before a night of partying and smoking cigarettes. I’ve never had that issue from smokeless though....wonder if it’s nicotine or the smoking factor.

ECigs. Not perfect, but barely smoke. Only really did on effexor (and the next crazy 3-6months), and while crashing from fin.
If the juice is good, only byproduct is water vapor (minus some metals .. but depends on temperature, mod, reliability of source. Can be done pretty damn cleanly).
That's just nicotine then and flavoring. However, I'd probably be better without it in some ways... helps focus and stuff.
-Barely smoke but if I bought them, and didn't vape, they'd be gone or half gone in like a night no question. Smoked like 2cigs all of last yr. tho i ran out on new years of vapor liquid, and smoked like 2 old cigars for some stupid reason.

Obviously it's not good.

Cigs fuck up your acetylcholine system. Very very bad.

Nicotine stimulates acetylcholine receptors.
So this means it not just a smoking thing, right? Guess no more snus for me.

Day one without dip/snus was hell. Naturally, shit unraveled at work so my go-to was sorely missed as I arrived early and worked late.

Day three is going to be a real shiter too. After that it pretty much tapers off. I find temptation on the last day of the third week and the end of the third month. The latter is normally due to feeling like i've 'beaten the addiction' and don't need to worry about getting addicted again. This is largely true if I don't buy tobacco, and just have the odd cigarette off friends during social occasions.

I'm trying to kick the habit of social smoking completely now though. I find after a night of smoking that my mouth feels pretty raw for a few days and I'm sure that it's not completely benign...
